Summer Project

When we first moved into our house three years ago, the back yard was just dirt and weeds (as you can tell from the background in the pictures). Well, this summer we have finally decided what we would like to do. So to start off the summer we wanted to extend our patio. We have decided to extend our patio in an arch about 12 feet and then make a little fire pit above the arch. We were going to do concrete at first so as to match our exsiting patio, but we decided that we liked pavers better and it looked nicer, so we went with pavers.

So when my bother came down for his suprise visit, we put him to work. :) He was such a trooper though and helped out a lot! Thanks bro!

The first thing to be down was take out about 6 inches of dirt. This will allow us to haul ABC rock and sand back here. This will provide the base for the pavers to sit on. Here is the Buga Boo helping out and do his part. :)  He loved being outside and helping his uncle.

The next step was to frame up the arch and make sure it was level. This is the hubby with the fun gadgets that he gets to borrow from work and play with. I love having an engineer for a husband. They know how to do everything! Whenever I have a problem, I just tell him to engineer it. Next will be the ABC dirt and the sand. More on that to come....
