A much needed update

Ok so it has been forever since I have posted! I have been so bad about keeping up on our blog and I apologize, but we are still alive! These past couple of months have been quite the adventure and I haven't been able to get anything posted. So I hope everyone is ready for the longest post ever!

It all started over Labor Day weekend, we traveled to Utah to perform Kody's baby blessing. Roger's Dad was battling cancer and was not able to travel, so we went up there so he could participate in the blessing. A lot of family was able to make it and it was great to see everyone. We had such a great time! Of course, pictures tell a better story so here are a few to enjoy!

Then after the blessing we had a B-B-Q outside for everyone. It was so nice to see everyone and thanks to all for coming out and to the McCormick's for hosting everything at their home. What made it really special was two of my other cousins also had little ones of their own this past summer as well. So my Grandma Jones got to see all three of her great-grandsons at the same time.

She is screaming with them because they did not want to cooperate for the picture. :)

Then Roger took me to the new Oquirrh Mountain temple. We weren't able to do a session, but we had a fun photo shoot. Although we had to wake Kody up from his nap so he wasn't too happy, but he was a trooper.

Roger brought up a ton of tomatoes from our garden and his mom and sister helped him to can...

So that was our week in Utah. When we were about ready to come home, Bill decided that he wanted to come down as well to see his grandkids. So we brought Bill & Pauline down. We enjoyed each other during their visit, and for the month of September we had a lot of family visiting with us, which was nice to see everyone! :) But of course we put them to work. Pauline, Kim and Amy helped us weed the backyard and got it looking great! Pauline & Julie were troopers and helped us can 2 boxes of peaches and 2 boxes of pears! So we have enough fruit to last us a lifetime, or at least until next year, we've been going through it pretty fast...

September was nice to see everyone and to spend some time with Bill. He was a great person and will be missed greatly. Grandkids were his favorite and we were so glad that he got to visit with Kody. He passed away 1n October and so we had another trip out to New Mexico for the funeral. It was good to see extended family that we hadn't seen in a long time.

This was just a short trip and I have to say, Kody and I will not be making a long distance trip anytime soon! Poor Kody was such a trooper and slept all the way their, but then he was pretty much in the car seat for 4 days, so by the time we came home he had had it with the car seat. And with all the stress I had been under, I came down with a head cold on the way home. So between me feeling bad, and Kody screaming all the way from Gallup we both about had our fill of car rides!!

But now we are settled down and back to normal. I have returned to work and Pauline came down last week to live with us for a few months to help take care of Kody while both Roger and I work. THANK YOU PAULINE!! Grandma and Him have too much fun during the day, but that will have to be another post. Hopefully it won't take as long next time... :)

Some of my favorite things

One of my favorite hobbies that let's me relax is cross-stitching. I know it may seem boring to some, but I absolutly love it! Well, I have been able to finish some of my projects lately and when my mom was here she helped me to clean them and mount them. Now all I have to do is frame 'em and enjoy 'em.

Spring Project Update

With the warm weather starting, our garden is just taking off! It is so exciting to see the fruits of our (Roger's) labor. :) I am so excited for everything to keep growing! Because the more that grows the more yummy food that we will have. So far we have...

Lettuce, Onion, Carrots, Cilantro, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Green Beans, Cucumber, Corn ...

Squash, Okra, Pumpkins, ...

Bell Peppers, Jalapenos, and lots and lots of Tomatos!!

Roger has promised me lots of fresh salsa this fall so I am holding him to that promise!

We are excited to see our garden grow although I must admit I can't take much credit for it. Roger is really the one that has the green thumb. I just watch and supervise. :)

Our Spring Project

Here are some pictures of what we have been doing in the yard this spring. We are excited to get our garden going and to work in the yard. We've planted some tomatoes and peppers for now and plan to get the rest of our seeds planted this week. It was a lot of work, but now we will be able to enjoy it! We've also included some pictures of the flowers in the front, they are petunias, African daisies, and purple verbena.

Ok, Ok, I'll make the announcement :)

So everyone is probably wondering what the announcement is about, well I better say something before time runs out. :) Yes, Roger and I would like to announce that we are expecting! We are very excited and look forward to becoming parents. Our due date is July 12th; however, coming late is fairly common in my family so we will see what happens. Although I am sure my brother would love for he/she to come on his birthday in July.

I have already started to feel the baby kick for a couple of weeks now and I just love to sit there and feel for the baby. Every now and then I feel movement that lets me know that he/she is still there, growing healthy and strong.

Our ultrasound is scheduled for the last week of February so we will keep everyone posted. For now we have been having fun listening to the little ones heart beat!

New Year's & the Family

I know this is a little late, but I thought I would share a little bit of my families visit over New Year's. My family was able to come out for a week and this is some of our adventures. My dad got a leather whip for Christmas so he brought it out to practice on. Trev, being the expert he is from his mission, gave it a whirl and got quite a few good cracks in there! I am sure our neighbors where wondering what the heck was going on!

Alyx got a new little puppy for Christmas and brought the cute little guy up. His name is Lord Rothwick Longfellow Percival, Percy for short. He is the cutest thing ever! And his sister was up for adoption, but Roger didn't think our back yard was ready for a dog just yet. :(

New Year's Eve the Town here put on some festivities so we thought we would go and check them out. They had fire pits where you could roast marshmallows and they provided all the "fixins" for smores, but we by the time we got their they were all out. But we did get in on some of their hot chocolate!

Other than that we stayed warm at home and played games. It was a great time and I loved seeing my family again. We also got the privledge to take Trev to the airport and I asked him to pose for me on the way down.

But then he was sweet and really smiled for me. :)

He is such a goof! Thanks mom and dad for taking the time to come and see us! We enjoyed having you and hope to see you again real soon!

Winter Storm Warning

So a few days ago we got a winter storm warning for the Prescott Area and we were so excited. We might actually get some snow! Well the next morning we did, and this is what we woke up too..

Needless to say, it was all melted within 5 minutes and the sky was beautiful and clear without a cloud in sight. Nothing like we remember in Utah or New Mexico. However, I can say that we do not own a snow shovel!
