Uncle Michael's Wedding

Yea! I finally have a sibling that is married. He and his wife were married in the Mesa, AZ Temple on October 7, 2011. The weather was beautiful that weekend! I have to admit that I was worried with it being October and Mesa, but a cool front moved through earlier that week and cooled it down so it was very pleasant for pictures. They choose turquoise and yellow for their colors and it turned out beautiful. And while the Bride and Groom made a cute couple, Buga Boos gave them a run for their money. At least that is my opinion, he was pretty darn handsome. :) Below are some pictures of the happy couple. Enjoy!

After pictures we had lunch at a park nearby and then headed down to Tuscon for the reception that night. The bride's sister did the decorations and Dranmom made the cake. They had a true, southern dinner complete with Fried Chicken, Waffles and the fixens. It was quite delish!

Beautiful!
Yummy!

Backyard update

In continuation of our big project this summer, I thought I would give an update. I last left off with us digging out and hauling off the dirt so we could extend our patio. Next we had to haul in ABC rock ( I know, dig up and haul out dirt just to bring more in ) but this dirt acts more like cement when it gets wet and provides a solid foundation for the pavers. So we had piles of ABC rock all over the back yard that we had to haul over to the form that the hubby built and then level it off.  then we watered it down and gave it a day or two to firm up and dry.

Our piles of lovely dirt

Bringing the dirt in
All the ABC rock laid and leveled
Then we had to bring in sand for the top layer. The same process all over again. Haul it to the back in piles all over the yard, haul it over to the form a few wheelbarrows at a time, level it off, wet it down, and then we could finally lay the pavers down!
Buga boo loved the piles of sand!
Watering down the sand
Packing down the sand and ABC dirt
Finally laying down the pavers!

Our patio is finally coming together

Our King of the back yard!

This is a very long process and we are not done yet. Now we need to cut the pavers so they can form a smooth arc and then cement the outside layer so it holds them all in. So we still have a ways to go, but it is coming along. Thanks hubby for working so hard to make our backyard beautiful and enjoyable! Someday, Someday...

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

This month my hubby had a birthday and I just wanted to take a min to tell him Happy Birthday! We celebrated his birthday in Utah with him mom and sister during our vacation. We took him out to eat at the Olive Garden, which is his favorite restaurant, and  then had cake and ice cream.

For his birthday I got him two tickets to the Diamondback vs. LA Dodgers game last night. He loves baseball and the Dbacks just won the National West division title so I thought we would go catch a game. We dropped Buga boo off at his cousin's house and had a date night, which hasn't happened for a while. :) It was a wonderful night just the two of us. The Diamondbacks played a great game and they went into a 10th inning tied 1-1. Then I don't know what happened to them but they allowed the Dodgers to gain 5 runs on them! Thinking the game was over and there was no way that they could recover, we left early. BIG Mistake! On the way home we heard on the radio that they were able to get one run in before loading up the bases. With two outs already, the bases loaded, Reynolds come up to bat and hit a home run! He scored the game winning walk off and with that the Dbacks are still in contention with Milwaukee for home team advantage in the playoffs. And we missed it!! I was so bummed!  They play the Dodgers again tonight so good luck Dbacks!

We had a great night and enjoyed the game anyways! Thank you sweetie for being such a wonderful husband and for all that you do for me and our son. You are a wonderful husband and Da-iee. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
